Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Azrou – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Erg Chebbi Dunes

Early in the morning around 8:30 am, our driver will arrive at a riad in Fes. the journey will start by moving towards the south of the region into the middle atlas by passing through Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco”. You can stop there to capture stunning views and admire the beauty of its alpine forest and feel the low temperature because of its cool climate.

In the afternoon you will travel through the National park and reach Midelt, where you can stop for lunch and explore the charming town square. Finally, you’ll arrive at Merzouga and head towards your campsite in Erg Chebbi to see the alluring dunes of Erg Chebbi. On the back of the dromedary, you will enjoy the beautiful sunset and move toward the nomad’s tent where you’ll spend the night in a traditional Berber camp.

  • Baggy trousers are essential for riding a camel. Warm clothing for evenings and nights in winter when the temperature drops. In summer, use strong sunblock, lip balm, and UV-safe sunglasses. A scarf or hat will be helpful to protect your face against wind and sun.
    • Buy bright scarfs for pictures in the Sahara
    • Bring an aux and dongle for your phone so you can play music in the car!

  • You can leave your luggage with your driver – it will be safe. Only carry the essentials in a small bag. A torch is a useful addition, as well as water. Buy some in Merzouga to make it sufficient for your personal needs and always carry water with you when you go climbing the dunes.

Day 2: Erg Chebbi – Merzouga Desert – Fes

Wake up early by the sun’s rays to watch the dunes constantly changing shape due to the wind.
