Day 1: Marrakech – Ouarzazate – Agdez – Erg Chehbi
We will pick you up from your Riad in Marrakech at 7:30 AM and start traveling towards the Atlas mountains before reaching our first site, Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. However, you will not stop in this Kasbah until day 3 so as to reach the sunset in the Sahara especially when the daylight is short.
First, you’ll head south towards the city of Ouarzazate. This city is known as the “Gateway to the Sahara” and is a popular filming location for movies and TV shows set in North Africa. Some of the films that have been shot here include Lawrence of Arabia, The Mummy, and Gladiator.
You’ll have some time to explore Ouarzazate before continuing on to Agdez, a small town situated in the Draa Valley at the edge of the Sahara Desert where you will see the large stunning date palms. Thus it is a great place to stock up on supplies before heading into the desert.
Then from Agdez, you’ll begin the journey into the Sahara Desert. This vast desert is home to some of the largest sand dunes in the world. Make sure to hike up to the top of one of the dunes for an incredible view of the Sahara Desert’s sunset.

Day 2: Erg Chebbi – Merzouga – Todra Gorges – Dades Gorge- Rose valley

Later after breakfast at your private desert camp, you will travel from Merzouga to the Tafilalet oasis. Along the way, you will visit the ruins of Sijilmassa in Rissani, Tinjdad, Tinghir, and Todgha Gorge. You will also have the opportunity to see the Dades Gorge and Rose valley.
Your journey will begin with a drive to the eastern part of Morocco to see Tafilalet oasis which has a number of palm groves and date plantations. Once you arrive at the Tafilalet oasis, you will have the chance to explore the area and learn about the local culture and meet the local people.
After exploring the oasis, you will continue your journey to Rissani to visit the ruins of Sijilmassa, which was once a thriving city during the medieval period. While in Rissani, you will also visit Tinjdad, Tinghir, and Todgha Gorge.
Once you enter Tinjdad, a small town located in the Atlas Mountains you will be blown away by the number of traditional Moroccan houses and a market where you can purchase local goods.
Next, you will pass through the Tinghir, known for its beautiful scenery and its many hiking trails. Then drive up the Todgha Gorge a canyon that is located near Tinghir. However, it is one of the most impressive canyons in Morocco and is known for its soaring red cliffs that reach up to 300 meters high in some places. There are several ways to explore the gorge including hiking, rock climbing, and canyoneering.
After spending some time at the Todgha Gorge, you will head to the Dades Gorge. The Dades Gorge is known for its dramatic scenery, rock formations, and winding roads. The gorge is also home to a number of small villages where you can learn about traditional Berber life.
Your final stop on Day 2 will be Rose valley. The valley gets its name from the large number of roses that grow in this area and has a huge variety of roses, which bloom throughout the spring and summer months. This is a great place to take some photos and enjoy the incredible views.

Day 3: Rose valley- Skoura – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech
After breakfast, you will head to Qelaat M’Gouna a town known for the production of Persian roses where You will have the opportunity to see how these flowers are harvested and distilled into rose water, which is used in many Moroccan cosmetics and perfumes.
Then, you will continue through the Road of One Thousand Kasbahs, passing the beautiful Skoura palm oasis with over 30,000 palm trees. until Amridil, the South’s largest kasbah (featured on Morocco’s 50-Dirham bank note).
From Skoura, you will continue on to Ouarzazate, where you will visit the famous Aït ben Haddou Kasbah a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most popular tourist attractions in Morocco. It is made up of a series of buildings that were once used as dwellings and now serve as a museum.
After lunch, you drive to a nearby fascinating Kasbah situated in the lush hills of Telouate outside the village of Onilla. Kasbah Telouate belonged to Pacha Tehami Glaoui during his time, and thus attracted Moroccans and tourists. The Harem and reception hall areas provide stylish and elegant indications for the luxurious lifestyle of the Glaoui family, while also offering a deep insight into the life of those who resided in it.
Nevertheless, the older parts of the Kasbah are in complete ruin, challenging one to see properly. Walking through the crumbling passageways is like walking in a maze, encouraging the imaginative mind to wander.
In the afternoon, you will cross through Tizi-n Tichka road on the gorgeous High Atlas, with vistas of remarkable valleys and their adobe domiciles.
